Book Club Report April 2011

'Fingersmith' by Sarah Waters. An historical novel, full of low life swindlers and cheats, corruption in Dickensian London also met with in so called higher society. A morality tale too – don’t be poor or a woman or you will be exploited, with little power to resist.

Lent – A Time to Stop, Reflect and Recover!

On Thursday 7 April, at 7.30 pm in the Hall, John Mannix will address our relationship with faith. He says, " Many adult Catholics are unsure about what the 'official' Catholic view is on various matters of theology or ethics. As a result, they can feel anxious about engaging in discussions about life and faith, for fear they might show that they don't know (or perhaps don't agree with) the 'right' answers.

Reflections: March 2011

This month's Reflections Evening will take place on Tuesday 12 April at 7.30 pm. The theme is ‘Walk with Jesus’ and there will be music, readings and silence for Passiontide, in candlelight – can you spare an hour?
