Father Philip led a large group of parishioners from the Parish School, through the Convent of the Holy Family gardens, to the church for Mass. We were fortunate to be loaned a donkey from the Sidmouth Donkey Sanctuary to lead the procession.

We celebrated with Fr Michael Sharkey on the Silver Jubilee of his Ordination to the Priesthood.

We celebrated a summer evening – yes there was one – with a South-Sea Island Supper. The proceeds from the evening, and other fund-raising, meant that we could send a further £500 to Balay sa Nazaret.

There was great celebration at the Honiton Youth Rally on July 20 when a large contingent – larger in most respects than the other parishes represented – came away with medals on an Olympic scale and the much coveted John Woolcott Cup was awarded to Austen’s Angels.

Twenty seven lucky parishioners went to Rome in February 2008. This was a wonderful experience and below is an article written by one of the group. The next parish trip to Rome is planned for October 2009 and booking will be taken in the spring.
