The young people in the parish are as active as ever: a good number took part in the Diocesan Youth Rally at Honiton; we had 4 going off to Summer Camp at Buckfast; around 10 young people from this parish are interested in going to Madrid to take part in World Youth Day; half a dozen of them helped out at the Barn Dance at St Nicholas School, which raised in the region of £650 for WYD; some of the same young people went to Dawlish Warren for an overnight Vigil of Prayer and then they also helped at the Summer Fete at St Peter's School on 17th July to help raise more money for WYD.
All of this is in addition to their regular Sunday meetings with our own youth leaders and their consistent contributions to the music group which plays at 11 o'clock Mass every Sunday. As well as the music group, some serve on the altar, some are readers or Extraordinary Ministers of Communion, while others help at the Faith & Light Meetings and with the younger Children's Liturgy. They are all involved in different ministries and offer a wonderful contribution to the life of the parish. We are lucky to have such commitment from this age group within the parish!
