Fr Philip and 4 excited young pilgrims left Holy Ghost Exmouth in some style on Thursday 11th August. After a huge English breakfast they gathered their luggage and waited for their transport to Bristol Airport. Thanks to Richard Gegg they were driven to the airport in a limo!
The boys have been fund raising for over two years and are grateful to everyone in the parish that has helped them. Events have ranged from a summer fete, to a sponsored walk across the Himalayas by a parishioner, to a choir concert given by Choir 97. In addition, they were very fortunate to be offered a grant from the Pain Adventure Trust for boys - a local charity that helps young people with travel and adventure.
From Madrid the boys will spend a few days in the Diocese of Zamora, enjoying the hospitality of host families, before joining young pilgrims from across the globe in Madrid.
What an experience - they will have many happy memories and many stories to share - we can't wait to hear them!
